Is This Journey Right For You?

Pakistan does not have many ski resorts, and Malam Jabba is the best of them. This winter trip is built around it. Whether you have skied before or you want to try it for the first time, we arrange the equipment, the lift passes and an instructor if you need one, so all you have to do is turn up and enjoy the snow. The resort has been fully rebuilt in recent years, and the slopes are well kept.

Around the skiing, the winter version of Swat is its own reward. The valley under snow is genuinely beautiful, and the lower roads stay open and manageable with our experienced drivers. Evenings are spent in warm, heated hotels with hot food and good views. This trip suits couples, friends and families who want a proper winter mountain break without leaving the country. We are PTDC registered and based in Karachi.

Journey Highlights

Skiing at Malam Jabba

Pakistan's main ski resort at 2,800 metres, with well-maintained slopes for different levels. Equipment rental and lessons are arranged for you, so beginners are very welcome.

Chairlift & Snow Views

Even if you are not skiing every day, the chairlift up gives you wide views over the snow-covered valley. A highlight in its own right.

Snow-Covered Valley

Swat under snow is a different place, quiet and striking. The drive up through the white valley is part of the experience.

Snowboarding & Beginners

Snowboarding is available too, and the gentle beginner slopes with an instructor make this a good place to learn from scratch.

Warm Mountain Hotels

Heated, comfortable hotels with hot food and good views, so the evenings are as relaxing as the days are active.

Winter Photography

Snow-laden pines, the frozen river edges and the white peaks make for some of the most striking photos you will take in Pakistan.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Islamabad to Malam Jabba

We pick you up in Islamabad and drive up the Swat Motorway, around 4 to 5 hours, then up the final stretch to Malam Jabba, watching the valley turn white as you climb. Check into your heated resort and settle in for the evening.

We sort your equipment and lift pass, and if you are new to skiing, your instructor gets you started on the beginner slope. Experienced skiers head straight up. A full day on the snow at your own level.

A proper day of skiing or snowboarding, building on the day before. Breaks in the warm resort when you need them, and the chairlift for views whenever you want a rest from the slopes.

A morning on the slopes, then an afternoon exploring the snow-covered valley by vehicle, with photo stops at the best viewpoints. A change of pace from the skiing.

Back to the slopes for those who want more, or a relaxed day around the resort for those who have had their fill. The trip flexes around how the group is feeling.

A final morning on the snow, then we drive down to a warm hotel lower in the valley to shorten the final day. A relaxed evening after a week of mountain air.

The drive back down the motorway to Islamabad, with photo stops of the snowy lower valley on the way. Back by early evening.
